Journal.
Rhonda

Meeting
Planners Say:
• Just
got a note in the mail today from an event planner who said, "Thanks
so much for sharing your wonderful humor and love of Christ with us."
Rhonda
Says:
Yes
I am a humorist. (I've totally shocked you, haven't I?). I think the
rule is: if you laugh more than five times (or if there's any leakage
of bodily fluids), you can be classified as a humorist. Humor helps
me connect with a listener. Folks tend to let their guards down once
they've laughed so that they're better able and more ready to listen
to a message from God's Word.
Gospel Presentation?
Yes,
but I always ask permission from the event planner. If it's a group
she's pretty sure is already Christian, then we focus more on discipleship
issues. Even in a strictly Christian audience, however, I ask during
the presentation(s) that anyone with questions about their eternity/their
surrender to Christ find me or one of the leaders after the event or
between meetings. The Gospel is the very "why" of life and
I love every opportunity I get to share it.
Why Rhonda Speaks:
Sharing with people that "why" of life and talking about the
heart issues of discipleship and following Christ--that's my calling.
There's nothing as compelling as a calling.
Rhonda's Goal:
...for
whatever in the universe God wants to do! My prayer is that listeners
will be encouraged to take their next step of faith, whether it's an
area of surrender, learning to rest in him, some point of obedience
or that very first step of salvation.
