Rebekah's Bio:
Author and speaker Rebekah Montgomery has over 30 years
experience as a Bible teacher. A prolific writer, she is the author
of several books, many magazine, newspaper, inspirational articles,
and is also a former magazine editor. She
grew up hearing and loving the stories of the Bible so it was only natural
for her to long to see those places for herself and study the Land.
That dream came true for her in an unexpected fashion.
In
1985, as a young wife and mother, Rebekah was on church staff, (specializing
in childrens and womens ministry) of a church in Ohio. Tragedy
struck her family when youngest son, Timothy, died unexpectedly. To
help her heal, Rebekahs husband, John, and a few close friends
conspired together to send her to Israel for short-term study at the
American Institute for Holy Land Studies (now Jerusalem University College).
Everywhere
I went in Israel, I saw how God brought His children out of the wilderness
into the Promised Land, but they had to fight to claim it, said
Rebekah. God empowered His children to travel through trouble,
not to be exempt from it. That was what He would do for me.
The
trip changed her life, illuminating her understanding of the Scriptures,
and hastening the healing process. Said
Rebekah: There are people who give up when something bad happens.
And then there are those who say, Things may be bad now, but by
the grace of God, I will travel through this to wherever He leads.
Rebekah
now shares the lessons she learned in the Land with audiences and the
readers of her five books, email devotional Fresh News From Heaven,
various newsletters (Right to the Heart of Women among others), and
publications (Crosswalk.com, Guideposts, and more).
Rebekah
and her husband of 35 years, John have three living children, Mary,
Joel, and Daniel.

Rebekah Says:
People say I'm a humorist, but honestly, it's not on purpose. I'm just
funny and I have a sense of stating 'the obvious' in ways that clearly
tickle people's funny bone.
Why Rebekah Speaks:
I present the gospel in a story form. I try to put it
into the context of God's reach into individual experiences.
Rebekah's Goal:
From my earliest childhood, I have had a passion to teach
the Word. I get a real buzz out of watching the sword of the Spirit
cut tumors of bitterness and hurt out of beating hearts. I love seeing
people realize that Jesus knows their name and loves them just like
they are.
