Laura's Bio:

Her boundless energy and contagious enthusiasm will be the first thing to captivate you, but genuine passion will be the lasting impression, long after she steps off the platform. Laura Sabin Riley speaks from her heart, out of her own personal brokenness, bringing hope to a generation of people who have fallen into a pit of performance. A self-proclaimed "recovering people pleaser", Laura often weaves this common theme into many of her messages; "Don't be afraid to be exactly who God created you to be; to try to be anyone else will only make your miserable!" While Laura enjoys speaking to men, women, and youth, her deepest desire is to equip and encourage women to pursue their full potential. She'll make you think, make you laugh and make you stop and take notice of the empowering grace that God wants to give you in your daily life. Through her own passion, humorous stories, and biblical insights, you'll rediscover a love and a passion for God, for others, and for living.

Aside from being an accomplished speaker, Laura has published numerous stories in more than a dozen different books, and she is the author of All Mothers Are Working Mothers, a daily devotional designed to encourage women in the very valuable, but often under-valued profession of motherhood. She is currently working on a book for single parents. Laura is a graduate of CLASS (Christian Leaders, Authors and Speakers Seminar) and a member of AWSA (Advanced Writers & Speakers Association). A single mother of two boys; she is active in both youth and women's ministries at her home church, and she is currently enrolled in a master's program at her local university, where she expects to receive her master's degree in community counseling in the Summer of 2006.

Absolutely! After all, it's all about Him! I always try to bring everything back to Jesus and what He did for us on the cross. I keep it simple, but meaningful, and tied to the topic at hand.

Why Laura Speaks:

Why not? Someone's gotta do it! Seriously, we all have different gifts - some of us are God's hands, some his feet, some his ears and eyes. I happen to be one of God's mouths! And I'm okay with that! I am most comfortable as a communicator, and I love to find creative ways to share Christ's love and His truths. I believe we all go through trials and overcome difficulties as part of the process in becoming all God created us to be. On the journey, we can help others grow by sharing what we have learned along the way; I want to share with others what God has taught me in the process of overcoming and becoming!

Laura's Goal:

My goal when I speak is to meet people exactly where they are and to share Christ's love for them and acceptance of them in that moment, then gently encouraging them and boldly empowering them to take a step of faith to the next level of their spiritual journey in a relationship with Christ. My desire is to see the walls of criticism and judgment torn down that have separated Christians for generations. The bottom line is Jesus Christ. If we could leave our differences and preferences at the cross, we would experience life like we've always wanted to - in a fresh and vibrant way, as a result of choosing to love one another, regardless of the variations in our churches and cultures. It's the same Jesus that died for all of us.
