Karen has a heart for busy women and desires to help
them free up time for what God has truly called them to do in relationships
and ministry. She challenges listeners to discover ways to make life
easier and more exciting.
Karen is the author of ten books, hundreds of articles, and writes a
monthly family page, and is a frequent guest on radio shows. She also
hosted a TV series in Miami and has traveled as far as Malaysia as a
speaker. Her two newest books in the Secrets of Success for Women series
are Time and the Home are lifelines for women drowning in busyness and
chaos that offer practical direction and inspiration. Her articles have
appeared in numerous magazines, including Focus on the Family, Today's
Christian Women, the Lookout, and Christian Parenting Today.
Humorous anecdotes combined with inspiration and creative solutions
in Karen's talks help women streamline their days and create Christ-centered
lives. Audiences laugh a lot yet come away with new hope, encouragement,
and feeling refreshed and challenged to make better choices in life.
Karen draws great lessons from her own tales of over-commitment, motherhood,
and misadventures in life.
Karen is a mother of five, including two rocket scientist sons, and
grandmother of two. For twenty-two years Karen and her family moved
around the country wherever her husband's career as a Coast Guard officer
took them. She has lived from New England to Hawaii, Michigan to Florida,
and currently resides on Maryland's eastern shore where her husband
is in his second career, in commercial industry.
Karen speaks to MOPS Groups, women's groups, Christian Women's Connection
groups, and Mother-Daughter groups. Karen and her husband have been
active members of Officer's Christian Fellowship for three decades and
currently minister to midshipmen and women at the Naval Academy.

Karen Says:
I share some very funny stories that get people laughing
a lot but I also give very practical advice and creative solutions to
apply immediately.
Gospel Presentation?
I share the gospel when I give my testimony. It depends
on the topic and needs of the audience. In some cases it is a natural
part of the talk, such as in sharing ways to bring Christ into the home,
I talk on how to present salvation at home.
Why Karen Speaks:
I never wanted to write or speak. The Lord clearly led
me into writing first and the fruit came with lots of publication..
As others share that I touch a need and I realize the Lord wants me
to share my stories and ideas with other women, I find this is now best
done through speaking in addition to the books. (In following God's
will for my life I waited to speak until my youngest entered high school
)
Karen's Goal:
To let women see new possibilities in their lives and discover that
they can make better choices for their families and their lives. I like
to help women discover how to weave the presence of God into daily life
and decisions, as well as learn to free up time for ministry.
