Allison's Bio:

When Allison Bottke's life changed, it wasn't merely another bend in the journey. It was a brake-locking, tire-screaming U-turn in the middle of a fast moving highway in order to head in a completely opposite direction.

Affectionately known as the "God Allows U-Turns Poster Girl," Allison's story is one of triumph over tragedy. Allison is the Founder of God Allows U-Turns ®, an international outreach that includes non-fiction and fiction books, tracts, logo merchandise, a speaking ministry, and a foundation. The cornerstone of God Allows U-Turns is a Christian inspirational book series many are calling "the next Chicken Soup." The God Allows U-Turns book series is available around the world with 20 books in the U-Turns "brand" currently available for adults, kids and youth. Allison's first novel (A Stitch in Time) in the chick-lit genre will release in summer 2006 from Bethany House Publishers.
A frequent guest on radio and TV programs around the country, the 700 Club featured her life story in what has become one of their highest rated programs ever, and she has appeared on the covers of such national magazines as Writer's Digest, BOND, The Christian Communicator and O.H. Magazine. Allison speaks and teaches at conferences and writer's events around the country, and often attends writer's conferences as an Acquisitions Editor for the God Allows U-Turns true short story compilation book series published by Bethany House.

Allison makes her home in southern Minnesota where she lives on a 20-acre farm with her husband.

Why Allison Speaks:

God turned my life around. Period. I wouldn't be alive if He didn't have a big plan for the tests I went through. The Great Commission is my passion - to share the gospel and bring others to this place of healing peace.

Allison's Goal:

My prayer is always that the Lord will reveal to attendees that no matter what they have done, no matter how lost they may feel - that it is never too late to make a U-Turn toward God. That if He can take my mess and make it a ministry and take my tests and make them a testimony - then He can certainly change their lives, too. In sharing my difficult past of childhood molestation, domestic violence, teenage motherhood, drug and alcohol addiction and New Age beliefs … women can sometimes see their own trials and tribulations … and come to understand and believe that God can help them navigate on a new course. I'm all about making God directed U-Turns, no matter how lost we are!
